Evaluation of the age-dependence on the shape of hair stream

Abstract

|
This study is aimed to verify the age-dependence on the shape of hair stream. Population was composed of people, not having hair loss, from teens to 80s in mid- and high- schools, old people’s home and military units located in Gwang-ju, Cheon-an(Chung Nam province) and neighboring regions. Convenience sampling and judgment sampling were applied and personal interviewing was conducted. The investigation had continued from 27 Sep 07 to 30 Sep 08. As a result, the shape of hair stream could be classified depending on age. Especially, as age falls down, the hair whorl placed farther from the G.P(Golden Point). In case of the double hair whorl, two pivots placed farther at an earlier age. People in their early ages are under different life environment compared to other age-groups. This study concludes that the shape of hair stream is affected by changes in life environment.
